EAC to offer free Saturday and evening placement tests in December
By By Lexi Heninger
Thatcher, AZ—In preparation for the upcoming spring semester, Eastern Arizona College’s Evaluation Unit will offer Saturday and evening placement testing sessions in early December. On Saturday, December 10, 2011, testing will be available from 10 a.m. to Noon, and on the evening of Thursday, December 15, 2011, testing will be available from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Both sessions will take place in the College’s High Tech Center.
Students must bring their EAC student ID and a photo ID to the test.
What are EAC’s placement tests? All degree-seeking students must take the placement test prior to enrolling in courses at Eastern Arizona College. Non degree-seeking students must take the placement test if enrolling in courses that require Math or English placement. The placement test covers reading, writing, mathematics, spelling, and vocabulary. The results are used during the educational planning process to assist students in selecting courses in which they will be successful.
The COMPASS placement assessment can be taken at no charge for students who are enrolling at Eastern Arizona College. EAC uses the COMPASS (Computerized Adaptive Placement Assessment & Support System) test from American College Testing for placement.
