SCHOLARSHIPS
Scholarships are primarily awarded on the basis of academic excellence, performance in a particular area, or need. Both new and returning fulltime students can apply for scholarships.
To be considered for scholarships, students must complete a scholarship application and current FAFSA application. Scholarship applications are submitted electronically and can be found on the public website or the students MYEAC account (My Financial Aid >Scholarships). Priority Application deadlines are December 31 and March 1. In order for a scholarship application to be considered complete, the following additional materials are also required:
Official Transcript. If you are a current high school student, a recent high school graduate without college experience or a transfer student from another college: Please send an official transcript to: Eastern Arizona College; Attn: Admissions and Registration Office; 615 N Stadium Avenue; Thatcher, AZ 85552. Official transcripts must come directly from the high school or previous college. For questions regarding official transcripts, please contact the Admissions and Registration Office at 928-428-8270. If you are a current EAC student: No transcript is required.
Two letters of recommendation. Uploading PDF copies within the application itself is preferred.
Personal essay. We recommend writing an essay in a separate document, then copy and paste into the essay section of the application. Essay Directions: Describe yourself and explain why you want to go to college and attend EAC. List any activities, clubs, service projects, sports, church, or community organizations in which you have participated. Describe what you see yourself doing in 5 - 10 years. Tell us a little more about your financial ability to pay for college. Financial situations are usually personal - only share as much information as you are comfortable. (1000 word maximum)
The Scholarship Officer has, as a matter of official policy, the right and obligation to discontinue any award made by or through the College upon receipt of verified evidence that a recipient of such an award has, either on the campus or in the community, demonstrated citizenship incompatible with standards of the College. This policy applies to all varieties of aid, as well as to academic, performing arts, athletic, or special scholarships.
