Description

This course introduces the student to the principles of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs). This course emphasizes the applications and implementation of PLCs as used in industrial control settings. It analyzes the interfacing of inputs, outputs, and development of ladder logic control programming. The course will subject the student to elementary, intermediate, and advanced programming functions as commonly used in PLCs. Several scenarios will be offered for the learner to create a program using ladder logic to solve control problems in simple to intermediate real world problems. This hands-on training will showcase ABB controllers which are frequently used in industry. The knowledge gained from using these controllers can be taken straight out into the field so that the learner will have a jump on the equipment that they may be using when they use these skills in the real world.
